Avek Espwa has two goals. The first is to create job opportunities in Haiti. The second is to create community ministry. This has looked different over the years as the country of Haiti has changed.

What we are Doing Now!

In the past three years Haiti has experienced excruciating economical and environmental harm. The instability of the government has led an already extremely impoverished country, into even more hunger, death, sickness, and gang rioting. This has not only made it impossible for Avek Espwa’s job development and community ministry to continue for the safety of our families, but also made the daily living of our AE families dire. They daily worry about their safety, ability to get food and safe water, and the future of their children. God has miraculously provided (often to the dollar) the funding to send $100 per month for our four employees the past three years just to help them survive, however with pricing tripling in Haiti, it does not last as long as it used to. Our hope was that the violence in Haiti would settle down and AE would be able to restart work. Sadly, the country continues to spiral downward with no end in sight. Currently, the U.S. has a unique opportunity for our AE families who serve in ministry with us. This opportunity has allowed us to apply for 2 year visas for our families to escape the hardship in Haiti and seek asylum in the U.S. Right now, we are raising funds to help bring these wonderful Christian families to the U.S. where they can start new lives and pursue God's mission for them in the States!

What we Have Done in the Past!

 

For the past 4 years, Avek Espwa has been creating job opportunities through doll sponsorships. Each $10 donation paid for a Haitian for a day's work to make one doll. The community ministry happened as the doll was delivered. Local Haitian believers were trained to share the gospel in a loving and compelling way. These believers delivered the doll, shared the gospel with the family of the child receiving the doll, and extend an invitation to a local church.
